WOOOO... BEWAREwith THIS KIND of PLAGUE !!!

Inspired by the great work of my friend who makes her blog in 100% English,, now I'm trying to walk in the same path as she does,, yeah,, hope I can do it and the result won't be embarrassing myself,, hehehe..

Do u know pal?? that a weird, odd disaster is happening in Indonesia??
When Japan suffered of 2 big earthquakes,, we, Indonesian, suffered of a very odd disaster. Yeah,, We suffered because of outbreaks of caterpillars..
It's true,, honestly..
A gigantic number of caterpillars suddenly appear in some of our regions here..
especially Probolinggo (East Java), and one region that I forget the name in West Java..
so many disgusting creatures like this make me feel afraid if someday they invade my place too,, hiyyy
and for my mom,, this is her worst nightmare..

of course the government has already sent some prevention and eradication actions to the village that suffered the most. They also has sent a special team to investigate the causes of this plague and how to solve it effectively and efficiently..
but there's no result..
till now the plague is getting worse and worse,, huh,, I can't understand,, why a nation that already suffered from a lot of disasters like us has to take more and more disaster..
God,, help us..

Oh yeah,, to say the least,, I think the causes of this plague is the number of caterpillar's natural predator is getting smaller,, there're just so few of birds that eat caterpillars left in my surrounding because of they've been hunting by those irresponsible people. And one more logical reason,, their natural habitat is damaged mostly because of people who clean up the forest, garden to make a house, building etc..

and u have to know that the caterpillars can cause some problems..
some reports said that in some of invaded village, this plague causes people suffered from itch because they got a physical contact with those caterpillars.
and also, Indonesia is a country which is so rich with their natural resources,, like so many kinds of plants, vegetables, fruits etc. And for all of farmers here, this plague causes a terrible damage to their crops.. poor them. How could they give food to their families??

April 3, 2011 – INDONESIA – East Java’s deputy governor has ordered officials to prepare for possible evacuations in areas hit by a caterpillar outbreak, a report said on Friday. Saifullah Yusuf also requested authorities to monitor the situation in Probolinggo district, where villages were swamped by thousands of caterpillars, said Edi Purwinarti, the governor’s assistant on people’s welfare.  “So far, the condition is not that bad yet,” Edi said on Friday. “The possibility of evacuating residents is an option if the conditions become worrying or dangerous,” Edi was quoted by Detiksurabaya.com as saying. In the past two weeks, the swarm has spread to five subdistricts in Probolinggo, with the insects crawling into homes and fields, causing skin rashes among residents. The herbivorous insects have also destroyed more than 8,800 mango trees — the district’s main agricultural product. The teams were also tasked to exterminate the caterpillars, believed to have come from the forests around Mount Bromo at the district’s border. Wibowo Eko Putro, head of East Java’s agriculture agency, said the swarm could have been caused by damage to Mount Bromo’s ecosystem after recent volcanic eruptions. Reports said the disappearance of the insect’s natural predators could also be a culprit. “A migration of the caterpillar population took place because the ecosystem on the slopes of Bromo has been destroyed,” Wibowo said. The agriculture chief said, however, that his theory needed to be verified by experts.  “We are now using preventive measures such as burning trash around the mango trees to reduce humidity,” Wibowo said, adding that this would slow down the insect’s growth. –The Jakarta Globe
